David and Deanna McCall are the hosts and owners of Cowboy Curriculum. They have spent their lifetime ranching in the West and are several generation ranchers. They have a deep love for the West and feel privileged to share this lifestyle with their clients. This is a unique opportunity to learn a way of life quickly disappearing. Both Dave and Deanna have worked with cattle and horses in a wide variety of situations, from sales yards to remote ranches, including 22 years on a ranch without electricity or phone service raising a family. They are respected for their skill and knowledge of livestock and ranching culture. The entire family performs cowboy poetry, another tradition of the West. Deanna is also a writer of cowboy poetry and short stories. After performing at some cowboy poetry gatherings, their story came out. They were overwhelmed with the response, people wanting to know how they could experience this lifestyle. This was the beginning of Cowboy Curriculum. The McCalls wanted to offer something different than the usual dude ranch vacation. The chance to actually learn what interests that person, whether it is getting prepared to go on their first cattle drive, learning or brushing up on actual ranching skills, or how to cook authentic cowboy dishes. They feel honored to share their lifestyle, and invite you to come experience the world of real ranching. |
